Sketching for print
Morgenmete - Breakfast Journal
I was delighted to be asked to illustrate for Morgenmete (a Breakfast journal). I created semi-naturalistic miniatures for the guest food bloggers Jessie Brown, Dorothy Porker, and Teresa Finney (pictured alongside her article here). Art Direction was by Tim Lampe, who helped guide what kind of feel we were going for: something warm, but clear at small scale alongside other bright and proud assets. I’m quite happy to have contributed. Issue 02 is now available Summer 2024 to order digitally and at stores across the world.

“The real miracle of this webcast, though, is the camerawork. Whenever you watch a sitcom filmed or taped in front of a live audience, you’re seeing a performance shot with three cameras, normally considered the minimum number necessary to produce a watchable program. Not so “Toni Stone”: The company had only two at its disposal. I didn’t know that until after I watched the webcast, edited by Beryl Baker, A.C.T.’s video content producer, and save for a few forgivable bobbles, the camerawork was so smooth and varied that I simply took it for granted that the show was shot with three cameras. Theater companies that are worried about the technical problems of capturing a live performance, as well as the resulting expense of shooting with three cameras, should thus take a close look at “Toni Stone.” They’ll be encouraged—and inspired.”
Photoshoot becomes show art
Our PR Consultant sent me an email with the caption “You’re famous now.” We had official show art for A.C.T.’s play Top Girls, but this photograph is so evocative. I took this shot while filming the trailer for Top Girls, which can be seen here. My photo is now being used to promote the show nationally.
Guest LectureR at UCB
I was a guest lecturer for an American Studies course at Cal in early March and got this thank you note in the mail from the students. Made my day.

Article on planned giving
I published multiple articles on fundraising, arts advocacy, and general PR for upcoming events and shows while working at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. This is still one of my favorites. If you’re wondering: that redwood grove is still growing today.
